TAAN participates in far-western tourism fair

A delegation of Trekking Agencies’
Association of Nepal (TAAN) participated in the 1st
Regional Tourism Fair organized from February 15-17 at Dhangadhi.
Minister for Tourism and Civil
Aviation Post Bahadur Bogati inaugurated the fair amid a function on February
15. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Bogati said there was lot more to do to
exploit tourism potentials of the far-west region.
All nine districts of the far-western region showcased their cultural,
historical and natural attractions through their respective stalls at the
TAAN showcased maps and pamphlets of newly developed trekking trails at
the fair. “We found visitors of the region curious toward trekking products,”
Machhindra Acharya of TAAN Media Center, who participated in the event, said. “Some
even asked us to develop new trekking trails in far-western region.”
The event attracted students, local tourism entrepreneurs and other
general visitors. The three-day fair featured a total of 30 stalls.
The fair was organized by Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) with the objective of
promoting tourism attractions in the far-western region.
Along with Acharya, TAAN Operations Officer Devendra Dangol also
attended the program.
