Third Phewa Festival begins
June 06 , 2006
In a bid to promote Pokhara as a tourist destination in the domestic as well as international markets, the third Phewa festival has been organised from May 10, 2006.
Started with the slogan "Save the Phewa Lake", the five-day festival also aims to conduct clean-up campaign in order to keep the lake neat and clean.
The festival has been organised by the hotel entrepreneurs' committee of Pokhara. The organisers want to attract about 50,000 visitors during the festival. Lying at an elevation of about 900 metres above sea level, Pokhara is a gateway to the world's popular trekking area—the Annapurna Region. The lake city also offers scenic view of the mountain peaks and cultural diversity.
