44th World Environment Day is the UN's most important day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the protection of our environment. Tourism and environment being closely interrelated, all the tourism stakeholders and local people must be concerned upon the challenges faced by tourism industry due to environment imbalance.
Each World Environment Day is organized around a theme that focuses attention on a particularly pressing environmental concern. The global theme for the day is “Beat Plastic Pollution”, if you can’t reuse it, refuse it.
TAAN will be cleaning the Swayambhunath area along with plantation program.
Tourism is a multidimensional economic activity that has an interaction with the environment. Environment being one of the burning issues of the recent days, TAAN has initiated cleaning and awareness campaign at Swayambhunath area, a popular heritage site of Nepal which is listed by UNESCO that carriers valuable tourism possibilities.
