Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) has organized a three -day training workshop on 'Mountain Security and First Aid’ at TAAN Secretary, Malaigaun from December 3, 2017. A total of 32 trekking professionals participated in the training. The workshop has been supported by Embassy of France in Kathmandu – La France au Népal. The technical supporters are Alliance Française Kathmandu, Société Française de Médecine de Catastrophe (SFMC), A), Association Nationale des Instructeurs et Moniteurs de Secourisme (ANIMS) and Secours En Montagne France.
TAAN President, Nava Raj Dahal inaugurated the program and welcomed all the trainers and trainee. He congratulated all the participants as they got an opportunity to learn about the mountain related problems and accumulate the knowledge and implement it during their necessity.
TAAN General Secretary, Ang Pemba Sherpa said “TAAN has been organizing these kinds of training in regular basis. The training will facilitate all the participants during their trekking period as well as in their daily life.” This workshop will be assets for all the participants in their upcoming days. He added.
Ice Himalaya President Mr. Maurice Duchene, Mr. Yves Prunier (Chief Trainer), Ms. Sonia, Ms. Betty, Mr. Cedric, Mr. Christian Rey are the trainers from France whereas Mr. Franck Sommaro is the trainer from Italy.
Chief Trainer Yves Pruner said that they work for emergency service especially for mountain related problems and are very experienced since long time. The first part of training will include getting through the injuries while second part will impart dealing problems with Altitude and Acute Mounatin Sickness.
