TAAN nominates Goodwill Ambassador for Thailand

TAAN organized a ‘Reception Program’ on June 14, 2017 AD to launch the Civil Scholarship Fund started by Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), Thailand and International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE) project in Nepal. On the occasion, Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) announced Assajita Awale, Vice-President of NRNA-Thailand as TAAN Goodwill Ambassador.

TAAN supported the program of NRNA-Thailand and the Civil Scholarship Fund, the fund is targeted to provide scholarships to 80 Nepali students each year, with priority to earthquake-victim children for the first five years. In this connection, TAAN supported this program as part of its campaign to promote ‘Educational Tourism’ in Nepal. 

TAAN coordinated to take the international batch of 40 IAESTE engineering trainees from 23 countries and 30 different universities joined at volunteer work at Laprak Project at Gorkha, where 573 homes will be constructed for the earthquake victims.  TAAN managed to take the engineers trainee to Laprak who come from Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Finland, Greece, India, Iran, Ireland, Lebanon, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Turkey and the UK.

Meanwhile, TAAN President Mr. Chandra Prasad Rijal, First Vice President Mr. Tej Bahadur Gurung and General Secretary Mr. Karna Bahadur Lama highlighted the various aspects of tourism and TAAN endeavors to interlink global tourism in Nepalese context. 
Representatives from different embassies, academicians, VC and professors of universities, IAESTE partners, PABSON, HISSAN, CTEVT, FNCCI, Ministry of Education, NELTA, entrepreneurs and civil society members were present on the occasion.
