Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN) recently participated in the 1st National Assembly of Home Stay Association Nepal and Home Stay Workshop organized in Amaltari of Nawalparasi.
TAAN President Chandra Prasad Rijal and Coordinator of Home Stay and Village Tourism Department Wangchu Sherpa were in the team.
Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Ananda Prasad Pokharel inaugurated the function amid a colorful ceremony preceded by cultural performance of Tharu artists. Speaking at the program, Minister Pokharel said homestay has become an important aspect of Nepali tourism industry. He was for expanding homestay to different parts of the country.
Similarly, TAAN President Rijal said TAAN was ready to work with Homestay Association Nepal for expansion of homestay facilities in different parts of the country. "We need homestays while taking groups in rural areas," he said.
Homestay operators, representatives of different travel trade associations, local tourism stakeholders, among others participated in the workshop.
