Canyoning exploration in Lwang Ghalel

A five-day canyoning exploration
concluded at Lwang Ghalel and Ghachok of Kaski concluded on February 1.
The exploration was organized by Trekking
Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) Pokhara Chapter while technical support
was provided by Nepal Canyoning Association. The exploration was promoted by
Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and supported by Annapurna Area Conservation Project
(ACAP), DDC Kaski, Lwang Ghalel VDC and Paddle Nepal.
The exploration was organized to promote
Kudi Falls at Ghattekhola of Lwang Ghalel VDC as a canyoning site.
“We organized the exploration to promote
the area as a hub for adventure tourism,” acting president of TAAN Pokhara
Chapter.
“Now we will promote Kudi Khola
as a destination for adventure tourists. We hope it will help bring in more
adventure tourists to Pokhara,” he added.
The Kudi Falls is 107 meters tall.
As the canyoning site lies on the Mardi
Himal Trek, locals are also preparing to open home stay facilities in the area.
Dhan Prasad Gurung, coordinator of TAAN’s
HR & Training Department, and Ranjan Rajbhandari, coordinator of TAAN’s Sports
& Events Department, were present in the concluding ceremony.
