Skill development training begins in Dhading

Trekking Agencies’ Association of
Nepal (TAAN) is organizing a 10-day ‘Tourism Destination Identification and
Skill Development Training’ in Ankhukhola-Netrabati Lake area of Dhading
district.
The manpower produced by the
training will be able to conduct search and rescue operation during natural
disasters and will be able to start business ventures on their own, according
to the training instructors. Moreover, they will also be able to guide local
and foreign tourists visiting the area and organize boating trips on the Netrabati
Lake.
The training kicked off on
January 19.
A total of 10 instructors (10
Nepali and 2 Italians) are conducting the training.
Along with this training, TAAN is
also organizing short-term trainings on cleanliness and hygiene and food
production among others. The move is aimed at promoting responsible tourism
practices in the area.
TAAN is also providing boating
training to a total of 30 local youths. The association is providing financial,
technical and logistics support for the training.
The Netrabati Lake also known as Ringane
is the reservoir of the Ankhukhola hydropower project. It holds great potential
for water activities and tourism development. The northern part of the area lies
on the newly explored Ganesh Himal Ruby Valley Treks.
