The 6th AGM of Nepal Canyoning Association (NCA) on September 17 unanimously elected a new executive committee under the chairmanship of Karna Lama.

Ranjan Rajbhandari, Pradip Limbu, Rajendra Lama and Rajesh Lama as vice president, general secretary, and treasurer, respectively. Rajan Simkhada, Sumek Adhikari and Sarbajit Magar have been unanimously elected as members. Outgoing president Tilak Lama is also in the executive committee as Immediate Past President.

The 11-member executive committee of the association will take complete shape with the nomination of two members in the executive committee. The new executive committee will perform responsibility for the next three years.

The new executive committee has expressed commitment to work in coordination with Nepal Tourism Board, Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal and other travel trade associations. It plans to organize National Canyoning Rendezvous in April next year. It also said canyoning holds great prospects in the future as it can be developed as a supplementary activity to trekking -- one of the major tourist activities in the country.
