The national flag carrier—Nepal Airlines Corporation—has increased its weekly flights to six from two since June 25, 2006.
According to Mr. Raju Bahadur K.C., director at the Marketing Department of the airline, the decision has been taken keeping in view the increasing flow of Nepali workers and tourists.
The Kathmandu-Kuala Lumpur-Kathmandu sector has remained a profitable sector for the airline since the beginning of its flights operation in 2003. “Flight occupancy rate stands at 90 percent on the Kathmandu-Kuala Lumpur sector, while it has started to exceed 70 percent on Kuala Lumpur-Kathmandu sector,” K. C. said.
