Kathmandu in TripAdvisor's top 25 destinations list

Popular travel portal TripAdvisor has included Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, in the list of 25 destinations in its 'Travelers' Choice Destinations 2015' list. Kathmandu is in 19th position in the list. The destinations were selected using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings for hotels, restaurants and attractions in destinations worldwide, gathered over a 12-month period. Kathmandu is the only South Asian city in the list. A two-day 'Scenario-based First Aid Training and First Aid Management in Rural Areas' for trekking guides kicked off at Balaju Garden in Kathmandu on Wednesday. Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN) is organizing the training to enhance professionalism of trekking guides and make them capable enough to provide first aid to trekkers in case of medical emergencies. Altogether 30 trekking guides from different trekking companies of TAAN are participating in the training. TAAN participates in Manaslu & Lhotse Diamond Jubilee Celebrations

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation together with different travel trade associations, including Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN), organized series of programs on April 30 as part of the Mt Manaslu and Mt Lhotse Diamond Jubilee Celebrations. The celebrations began with a colorful procession that began from Khullamanch and went through Kantipath, Thamel, Sorakhutte and Lainchour before concluding at the Narayanhiti Palace Museum premises. Fulee Sherpa nominated as TAAN Executive Committee Member

The 22nd meeting of Trekking Agencies' Association of Npeal (TAAN) Executive Committee has nominamted Ms Fulee Sherpa, the marketing director of International Sherpa Adventure, as TAAN Exuective Member. With the nomination, the 23-member executive committee has become complete. As per the TAAN Statute, the executive committee has to nomiante four exeuctive members, incuding a woman. Three executive committee members have already been nominated.
