Nava Raj Dahal elected as TAAN President

The 39th Annual General Meeting of Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) has elected a new executive committee with Nava Raj Dahal as the president. Similarly, Khum Bahadur Subedi has been elected the Senior Vice-President, Jeevan Thapa Magar the First Vice-President, Nil Hari Bastola the Second Vice-President, Ang Pemba Sherpa the General Secretary, Sujan Lamichhane the Secretary, Ram Krishna Timilsina the Treasurer and Tara Rana the Joint Treasurer of TAAN. Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA), Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) with different tourism organization including Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN), organized a rally on September 25 as a part of 38th World Tourism Day. The procession commenced from Employee Provident Fund office, Thamel and went through Durbar Marg and Gantaghar before concluding at the Nepal Tourism Board premises. Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN) has organized a four-day workshop on 'Mountain Security and First Aid Training’ at its secretariat in Kathmandu on September 18 till September 21. Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN) celebrated TAAN DAY on May 29, 2017 AD. The day is remembered for its official establishment day on May 29 1979 AD. Interestingly, TAAN Day falls on Everest Day, the day when Mr. Everest was successfully conquered on May 29, 1953 AD . TAAN to launch protest against NTB if its demands are not met

Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) has submitted a charter of demands at the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Kathmandu, stating clearly that it would announce series of protest programs if it demands are not addressed by February 6. Issuing a statement, TAAN said that the NTB has not released the former’s share from the TIMS Fund citing a letter issued by the International Relations and Labor Committee of legislature-parliament dated April 1, 2015. Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN) and Kathmandu Environmental Education Project (KEEP) are jointly operating porter clothing centers in Kathmandu and Lukla. The two organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this effect amid a ceremony held in Kathmandu on Friday. TAAN President Chandra Prasad Rijal and KEEP President Bimal Naharki signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.
